Kanye Cites Nietzsche

I saw this on the news the other day and thought you all might get a kick out of it

  1. Wow, I never knew that Kanye's song, "Stronger" was based off of Nietzsche's philosophy. It's also interesting because I've never thought of phrasing Nietzsche's beliefs like that, "that which does not kill us makes us stronger," however, this seems to fit well. Everything that happens in nature is a necessity in that if it doesn't kill you, you become stronger. The controversy with Vincent Peters is intriguing, but what I'm finding myself thinking about is the lyrics of "Stronger" and whether this song would be written from the point of view of a slave or master morality. Originally, I thought slave morality because Nietzsche says that humans are value creating beings and that a slave revolts against their superior and creates the idea that those superior are evil. This then would mean that whatever the masters do to the slaves that does not kill them, would make them stronger. But then I started questioning myself because of Nietzsche's claim that there is no free-will and that an agent is nothing other than what it is. The weak cannot become strong therefore, how could this be written from the perspective of a slave morality?... Sorry if I changed the subject about the feud about the song, this was just a thought I had and am curious about.
